A swing steam shower door can be built with or without a movable transom. A steam door without a movable transom uses pivot hinges with a special glass cutout for the top hinge. This makes the glass to tile spacing on both sides and top the same. If a movable transom is to be used, wall mount hinges are used.

A door with a movable transom plus two side panels and one return panel. It doesn't matter if the panels are on the left, right or both. The return panel or Inline panels are up on a little walls.
